New rows not added to data filtering

Hi there

I'm having trouble with a block of data in a spreadsheet that has Automatic
Data Filters on. When new data is added to the blank rows at the bottom,
these are not then picked up when I filter any of the criteria - i.e. at the
bottom of the filtered list I get rows which do not fulfill the filter
criteria.

I definitely don't have a blank row, so I know it's not that. I'm sure I've
not had this problem before.

The spreadsheet is used by others with limited Excel experience so I don't
want to have to ask the to take the filters off and reapply them each time
they add new data.

Any assistance gratefully received.

If you have Excel 2003 create a Data, List. Your situation is exactly what
this feature was created for. In Excel 2007 use the Table command on the
Insert tab.

Earlier version you will have to redo the filter, maybe giving users a
button with macro to do it.

FMS - I had this same problem for the first time today. Turning the filters
off and on again didn't resolve it so I'll be interested to learn what the
solution is as well.

Hi Jim

thanks so much.

I'd never even spotted that menu item before - learnt something new today!
