New Problem Inserting Photo onto FP 2002

FP 2002 upgrade to Office 2000. I have since upgraded to Office Pro and have
kept the FP 2002. I have been using it, adding photos to pages I have
created and now suddenly, when I add a photo, it shows a small box with the
"x" in it in Normal mode. When I switch to Preview mode, I can see the photo
I added but back in Normal, I have no ability to manipulate the photo. Also,
when I add a photo as a background, I cannot see it until I view in Preview
mode.

This is something new. I have always been able to see the photos and
manipulate them. Something else new about it is that when I save the page, I
do not get the little box that this new photo is being added.

I thought putting the disc back into the drive and running a repair function
may fix this but it has not. Any ideas?

Thank you.

Photos must be IMPORTED into your images folder before they are used on
pages. Also, I recommend that you do not do any photo manipulation in
FrontPage. Prepare them all properly and completely, with correct
optimization before you import them. Here's an article for you to read:

Thank you for your response. It is helpful and I will give it a try and let
you know what happens.

The manipulating I was referring to was a slight sizing or a positioning on
a page. I will move them around based on the topic and usually have a bit of
text someplace.

But back to the original,.... why would this work previously and not now?

Try not to do any resizing. Absolutely don't use Absolute Positioning to
place images (use tables instead) and the answer to your last question is
.... I don't know!! FP is often 'flaky' that way.

OK, thanks again.

Sorry, I had to go to work but I am going to try what you have suggested. I
thank you very much for your response and will let you know how it works.

I was able to import the photos and put them on the page again and I thank
you so much for this direction.

I don't know how to use the tables. Is there some direction you can point
me on this. I put tables on the page and was able to put the photos there
but then the lines of the tables remained and I could not see how to get rid
of them.

This is probably something I should have read before I even tried to use FP
but didn't. I was able to put things together and it worked to a degree.

Any direction you can point me will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

Tell me how you placed them on the pages, or slow me your site. Give us the
URL
