I work for a small company with about 10 computers connected to a main
server. I am in charge of upgrading the system to Server 2003 and XP Pro.
What we would like to happen is have all of the computers the same so that no
matter which computer you are at you can log on have your own desktop and all
the programs will work the same.

Right now what ever computer you are at is left in the state that the last
person used it and Excel may not open all of the functionality that it did on
another computer, especially with macros.

I know how to set up user profiles on individual computers but not how to
make them follow the users.

Also probably the craziest suggestion you have heard is for any user to be
able to see and responed to any email no matter who in the office it is
addressed to. What is the best way to set this up?

Thank you for any help
Lonnie

Lonnie,

In simple terms, you need to setup a domain, and setup domain accounts for
everybody. Using domain accounts, and roaming profiles, each user's settings
will follow him wherever he works.

Global group access to email is another subject. I worked with Lotus Notes for
many years, and it is possible to provide this with the proper setup. Whether
with Outlook, or whatever email client you use, I can't say. If your email
client is Outlook, you will probably find better answers in
microsoft.public.outlook.general. If another email client, then there is
probably a similar support forum available to you.
