New Motherboard, Vista Will Not Boot

I just installed a new motherboard and normally vista and XP does not
boot. I fixed XP by doing a repair install, but this option is not
available on Vista. The start up repair option did not work, and an
upgrade is the "new repair." But upgrades also copy the drivers, and
the drivers are causing the problem. Are they any other solutions to
this problem?

You'll most likely need to perform a clean installation of Vista.
Sadly, Vista new installation model does not permit the repair
installations that were so very useful with Win2K and WinXP.

If you hadn't already backed up your data before reaching this point,
you'll either need to create a parallel installation of Vista to get the
data safely off the hard drive, or perhaps use one of the many Linux
distro's CD-based "Live" OS' to get the data backed up to some sort of
external media.
