New MOBO - will my licence still be valid?

Does anyone know if I will need to buy a new XP licence if I swap out my
motherboard, or will I be able to re-activate my current XP after
reinstallation without buying another copy?

Was your original copy OEM? If it was OEM was it from one of the major
vendors? If so then the OS may be locked to that BIOS. If not then, well,
the general rule is three major items within your PC so, well, I guess not
as that's just one or two if you swapped the CPU to a new one as well. The
answer is no if it is a full retail version and that is what the major
difference is in OEM vs. Retail and why the price is so different.

Depends on your license type, but you will certainly have to do a repair
install to have the new hardware installed properly. You might or might
not need to re-activate.

I just put a different mobo in and all i had to do was register within 30
days but the reminder to register approaches every thirty seconds if you get
my drift. Call. They may ask about what computers you have it installed on.
lie.I couldnt log into another installation of XP on another drive and had
to call but tell them the circumstances and they will likely give you the
key. gl.
