New MM book - Issue date?

Ordered the following from Amazon.co.uk about a month ago :-

Jon Bounds, et al "Windows Movie Maker 2 Zero to Hero"

And just relieved the following yesterday:-

Our current estimate is that it will take an additional 4-6 weeks to
obtain this item for you

Any ideas when this book will be published?

Pat,

It's being printed right now. Late July is the target for seeing the books
physically. I'm one of the 'et al's' who wrote it with Jon Bounds.

Just recieved the following from Amazon.co.uk :-

We apologise for the length of time it has taken us to reach this
conclusion. Until recently, we had still hoped to obtain this item for
you.

This unavailable item has been cancelled from your order.

Ordered it on 27/5/03.

Any ideas? I was looking forward to the book.

Hi Pat,

I'm checking on it. The link to the online stores on the Friends of Ed site
currently shows Amazon.com, Compman (uk), Springer (USA) and Springer
(Europe).

My latest forecast of actually seeing the book was sometime during the first
week of August. And Amazon was scheduled to get the first shipment.

All I can think of was, with the shift in publishers from Friends of Ed in
Birmingham, UK to APress in San Francisco, and the Compman (uk) showing up
on the FoE website, maybe just a re-alignment of the distribution.

I still don't have mine yet, and was upfront to get it 'hot off the press'.
My local Barnes & Noble store shows it in their database now as 8/1/03, when
they didn't have a date until recently.

I sent a copy of your post to APress and will let you know.

Here's what I got back from APress about your Amazon situation:

"The crucial thing to notice is the ISBN. Your published
book has the new ISBN 1590591496 and is listed here:

I have spoken to our marketing department to get the
Amazon information updated asap - the official pub date
is July 31 (today) so they should be able to ship out
pre-orders any day now.

Any pre-orders for the old ISBN 1904344453 will
be cancelled by Amazon, as in the case of Pat below.
The old ISBN now appears to have been removed from
the UK site so no one will be able to order it by
accident."
