New message font <> reply, or forward font in sig...?

Howdy,

I use Word 2002 as my editor in Outlook 2002.

I have word set to use the same signature file for New
messages, and for Replies and Forwarded messages.

But, when I create a reply in HTML, the font size in the
signature is one point smaller than it is in new messages.

What might be causing that change, and how can I correct it?

you might get better hits on such a question in an Outlook newsgroup.

If you write a new message, is it in text-only per default? Then all
text will look the same (size and font), but in HTML, you can add font
formatting. Maybe your signature was recorded in a font size 1 pt
smaller than the default text size?

If you write a new message, is it in text-only per default? Then all
text will look the same (size and font), but in HTML, you can add font
formatting. Maybe your signature was recorded in a font size 1 pt

Hi Robert,

I will certainly try an Outlook group, but thought it was a
Word issue.

Perhaps I did not communicate this aspect clearly, but Word
provides the option to create a signature for new messages,
and also one for replys. I suppose that some folks prefer to
use two different sigs in those situations, but I use only
one, and, in fact, have only one.

Yet, when I reply (in HTML) Word sets the sig font to be one
point smaller than in a new message.

no, I think your original problem description was clear.

I am only wondering whether you are normally composing your emails in
HTML or text-only. If you receive an HTML mail, then Outlook might
switch to that format behind your back even if you prefer text.

In a text-only message, the point size is irrelevant (so you wouldn't
notice), and you display text in font and size of your choice.

Hi Robert,

I see the problem when I receive an HTML email, and respond
to it in HTML.

Usually, I just select my sig, and increase its font size to
match the rest of my outgoing message, but after a while I
became curious about the cause of the problem.

At that point, I thought it possible that I had accidentally
set up two different signatures with two different font
sizes, but having checked, there is only one.
