New Mail dissappears quickly

When I open microsoft mail I can see that I have new mail, and I see it on
the screen. All of the sudden it goes away and I am unable to retreave it.
Can someone help me? Thanks
 
Check the View setting for the Inbox or whichever folder..
View - Current view - Show all messages
