new machine

It came with vista. The machine has 5 times the ram and almost twice the
mhz (2.8 mhz as opposed to 1.5 mhz) The computer itself is less accessable
and many of my old vital programs won't run on Vista. Most of all, the
dangdo thing runs no faster and files seem to take up more room on the hard
drive. I must say that I'm disgusted and I really want to wipe and put XP
on the machine. Am I the only one?
It seems to me that the opsys isn't as stable as XP. It reminds me at times
of windows 98.
Could it be that microsoft is in colusion with Computer manufacturers to
make an
operating system that requires more space and speed to make people "have to"
buy new computers. I haven't seen any improvement in the operation of my
computer... other than a few unnecessary bells and whistles.

Agreed. So far, It's nothing to write home about. A memory hogging, unstable
piece of crap. I'm sure it'll improve.

You didn't check that out first? The are a few computer makers still
selling xp machines - DELL also sells some models with Ubuntu Linux
installed.

That's precisely what's going on. That's why all these hardware
manufacturers have become "Microsoft Partners".

Cheers.
