New Internet 6 Scrolling Problem

Normally, when one uses a mouse with a long document
(more than two screenfuls of information long) and left-
clicks once in the blank space of the vertical scroll bar
between the slider and the arrow at the bottom, one moves
down one screenful of information (so that the last line
of the first screen becomes the first line of the second
screen).

This still works correctly for me in all programs EXCEPT
in my browser, Internet Explorer. When I click in that
space on an Internet Explorer document (for example, but
not limited to, a list of search results on ABE--see, it
is book-related), the advance is two screenfuls of
information, instead of one.

I have checked my mouse, reinstalled my mouse software
which included new drivers. I also spoke with another
bookseller in town who has the same problem when she
clicks in that space in ABE or other internet documents.

I'm using Windows Professional and version
6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422.1633IC. I have installed all
updates through December 1, and there are no more
critical upgrades to install.

This just began a couple of days ago, and that was when I
installed the last security update from Microsoft.

Anyone else experiencing this?
