New XP home won't install updates that have been downloaded. Error"Windows

More info needed. What updates? What SP2 level was the initial install?
 
So is the problem resolved except for that one? If so I would suggest you
post to the experts in the windows update newsgroup.
microsoft.public.windowsupdate.
