I built a new computer and purchased the XP home edition
software...the version only distributed with a new pc. I
can't install it. The computer shuts itself off at the
same place everytime...at the setup window wher it asks to
continue or repair(blue screen). It even does it whe I
pre-load Win98 and run the autorun. Do i have the wrong
version or what?

That doesn't sound like a software or an XP operating system problem.
You've probably got a hardware defect or incompatibility - either with
memory, an add in card, or the motherboard itself. You need to find
out what piece of hardware you've put together that's causing the
error to occur.
