I really like Vista on my desktop, so today installed
Home Premium on my laptop (2GB Core2Duo). Almost
everything works great, HOWEVER:

1. I am the sole user of this computer, and want no
login of any sort. On boot, I see a patterned square
with my name on it, and must click it to get to the
desktop. How do I get rid of it?

2. As this laptop's One & Only, I want the highest
possible privileges. Now, when I try to do certain
things I must click on two (2) different dialog boxes.
Without turning UAC off, how can I reduce that to one
(or even none)?

Thanks!!

How to enable the built in root Administrator account:

Please note that, by default, Vistas regular account is known as a Standard
Administrator which allows you to manage the system and create additional
accounts. This account is recommended for daily usage, Microsoft in fact
recommends you use a Limited User Account for daily usage.

UAC is annoying, but its there for a reason to protect you from malicious
applications that creep into your system or record your keystrokes and
compromise your system. You can turn if off by going to Control Panel > User
Accounts > Turn User Account Control on or off.
