Hi,

I've got a new external firewire HD that I'm trying to
format. It's 120G. Formatting looks like it's happening
for the expected 10 minutes or so. But when it finished, I
get messages about the volume/disk being too big and the
format failing.

Even when I then partition it into two 60G drives, I get
the same message.

Windows 2000 Pro
trying to format FAT32

Thanks

Windows 2000 can format a partition as fat32 up to 32 gB in size.

Windows 2000 has no problem reading, writing, being installed on a fat32
partition > 32 gB just can't format one. Use a win98 startup disk, Partition
Magic or some other means to create it; or format it NTFS the native file
system of Windows 2000.
