After I installed a new hard drive (blank) the CMOS found and identified it.
I rebooted and started to install XP, which hung up. Shut it down and tried
again. Now the system won't even boot from any drive, CD/ floppy or hard
drive. It doesn't even fire up the monitor. It looks for the cd/floopy
drives but won't read from them.

If you cannot see any BIOS messages on the screen then you
have a hardware problem. Repost in a hardware group, or
take the machine to your friendly computer dealer.

Double check the jumper settings on the hard drives. Note, you also may
have to change the jumpers on the original drive.
