New Folder Reappearing on Vista Desktop

A New Folder keeps appearing on my Vista Ultimate Desktop. The folder keeps
appearing when I select any file in the Windows Explorer by either: 1. Right
clicking on the file, 2. Copying the file, 3. Deleting a file

I have checked all programs, including Windows Media Player and non seem to
point to this new folder on my desktop. I have also run many virus scans
with Windows Defender, Norton 360, Spybot, Ad-Aware, and still the problem is
there. I have also checked all profiles and the folder is not on the
desktops for any other profile.

Please advise, this folder appearing is very annoying, and I cannot think
why it has happened and want to be able to stop it.

Thanks, Sat.

I have been experiencing the same problem as you are describing on
Vista Home Premium. I have searched the internet for a solution to
this annoying problem and everyone points to a virus or spyware
program. I have scanned multiple times with Windows Defender and a up-
to date copy of Trend Micro's PC-cillin Internet Security 2007 to no
avail......everything is clean according to them.....anyone have a
solution for this?

Thanks!

Found a solution:

As a troubleshooting guide you should run Process Monitor from Sysinternals
(Microsoft), reproduce the problem, and then see what process called for the
directory to be created

The problem for me was resolved by downloading and running Process Monitor.
From here, I was able to see that the New Folder was created from my
Bluetooth process, which makes sense as to why is was always created when I
select a file. I have changed the settings in my Bluetooth program to point
to an appropriate folder rather than <machine>/desktop/New Folder.

Hope this helps
