new contact in outlook 2007

filled in aall the info, clicked save and close. Then tried to send an email
and new contact wasn't there.

Could you define "there" for us? We cannot see what you are looking at.
Pressing "To:" brings up your Address Book.
 
worked this time. didn't firdt time.
