for Windows with clipart and everything...

I hope to hear from u soon, thank you.

Word processing programs like Word is a separate product. You will need to
buy Word XP or Office XP.

You can't find the word processor because you didn't yet install a word
processor. XP being a "great product" has nothing to do with your
inability to find the word processing program.

WordPad is a very basic "freebie". Use it for what it's worth and
temper your expectations.

The vendor from whom you purchased the computer may well have bundled a
word processor with with, e.g. Microsoft Works, Corel's WordPerfect,
ect. Look.

You can buy Microsoft Works, Microsoft WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, or
even buy the Microsoft Office Suite. For the latter, see
www.microsoft.com/office.

You can also find terrific word processors that are free of licesne
costs, e.g. OpenOffice www.openoffice.org and Abiword www.abisource.org.

Word is a part of the Office suite, you will need to purchase it separately.

Moved to Thailand, and learn the local language. MS sells both Windows
& office XP together for around forty bucks. If you want to continue to
live in the Western World, then you have to deal with MS's monopolistic
pricing.

There is Windows Office XP CD available to buy...it has
word, excel, powerpoint, frontpage, outlook (for mail &
calendar) & access programs on it. The windows XP
operating system it self only contains wordpad (a lesser
version of word) & notepad.

Fay

The reason you had it before but not now is becauase it
was probably Pre-Installed by the Vendor of your 'old'
Computer - possibly in the Ms Works Suite

If your previous Vendor gave you a Proper Installation
Disk for Ms Works Suite then you can Install that on your
new XP Computer

The chances are though that you don't have such a Disk ?

Therefore you can only follow the advice in the Posts
below

Because it isn't there. It's not part of the operating system, you
have to buy it separately. If you'd like a cheap alternative, check
http://www.jarte.com/index.html for a system they claim is built on
Notepad's core, but outperforms it, or check http://www.openoffice.org
for a complete office suite for free.

You probably still have the Microsoft Word installation CD from your old
computer's support stuff. If so, put it in the CD drive of your new
computer and install it.

Greetings --

You won't find a word processing program unless you purchase and
install one. WinXP is an operating system, not a productivity
application.

You don't need to purchase one, there are a couple of legitimately
free or low cost office suites.

Greetings --

Perhaps, but not having used or tested any of them, I cannot, in
good conscience, recommend their use. (Particularly since years of
experience have taught me that "free" products and/or services, with
only a few very rare exceptions, are worth exactly what I paid for
them.)

Bruce;
I have plenty of free programs that work just fine.
Tweak UI. Zone Alarm. AVG. HijackThis. Aida32. SiSoft Sandra.
BelarcAdvisor. Ad-aware. DiskCleaner. EasyCleaner. Spyware Blaster. Spybot -
S&D. NoteTab Lite. Mercury Editor. Just to name a few.
