I have XP SP2 home all updates, .NET framework 1.1 (+update) and .NET
framework 2.0 (final) installed. ATI Radeon 9800 128MB Pro, Dell 1800FP
monitor (DVI).
I downloaded and installed the new color control applet. It seemed to
install OK, but when I double click on the applet, the mouse cursor turns
busy for a few seconds, then nothing. No window opens. Ditto after reboot.
I also tried double clicking on WinColor.exe in
C:\Program Files\Pro Imaging Powertoys\Microsoft Color Control Panel Applet
for Windows XP; same result.

I tried the repair in add/remove/ click here for support information.
Also tried uninstall/reinstall with a fresh download.
Also tried fix in .NET framework 1.1 Wizard.

Other software using .NET framework 1.1 work fine.

Any suggestions on what else to try? Or do others have the same problem?

Same here for me. After enabling the debug mode of the applet, I get
the following results in the log file:

Any ideas what the reason could be?

There is a newer version available for download now, although nothing
is mentioned on the MS site. File size is 1.506.352 bytes (new) vs.
1.506.368 bytes (old version). Uninstalled the old one, installed the
new and it works like a charm now.

Credits go to the users of the dpreview forum.

Great! works for me too :-)
I wonder what those 16 bytes extra in the old version screwed up, lol

Very many thanks for posting that.
