New Appts now default to "All Day Event" checkbox

My boss asked me this question today. He opens a new appointment and the
default is that the event is checked “All Day Eventâ€.

Normally, there is no check but I don't know how to fix this problem.
How does he make the default ‘unchecked’ again?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated !

Which method does he use to create a new appointment?
Is his Calendar set to a monthly view perhaps?
