new appointment not functioning

the drop down window to add a new appointment to calendar will not open ...
help appreciated ... M.
 
It is helpful to us if more information is provided such as what version of
Outlook are you on a server and what steps have you taken to resolve the
issue plus are there any error messages

I use office 2003 and am on PC at home. Have tried "detect&repair" to no
avail . no error message ... thanks FO ... M.
