"New" and "Reply" slowness

Outlook 2003 - everything works fine except...when clicking on "New" for a
new mail message or "Reply" there is a 5-6 second delay before the
appropriate window is launched. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Outlook,
renaming my .ost file, removing my signatures, etc. Any guesses out there as
to what might cause this particular behavior?

Do you have Word or Outlook as the email editor?
Which addins do you have installed (also for Word if that is your editor)?

Yes, using Word for the editor and as soon as I uncheccked that in Tools,
Options to use the builtin editor everylaunched just fine. No Addins in
Outlook and only 1 in Word (a Panasonic scanner addin) which I removed but
that had no effect on the launch speed. I guess I'll just use the Outlook
editor.
