never seen problems

running windows XP home,
problem: every time i open windows task manager,or
regedit, or msconfig ...they open for a second ...like a
flash....and it close...window is gone...i try everything
my small brain could do ...but still...
anyone can help

It's always wise to first search the group for your topic. In this case,
"task manager" will bring up dozens of hits relating to the worm that has
infested your PC. Here's just one...

W32.spybot worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:

The same symptom is caused due to Klez, Yaha Viruses. It is advisable to run
a full system scan. Be sure you update the anti-virus software definitions.
