HELP
I have a desktop running xp pro
my other is a notebook running xp home
They are connected to the internet thru a router (cable)
I cannot figure out how to share files between the two.
I have checked that the workgroup name is the same.
subnet mask is the same.
The notebook appears in the list of workgroup computers on my desktop, but I
cannot access it .
I have tried disabling the windows firewall, but that seems to make no
difference. The files I wish to share have sharing allowed. I am stumped.
any hints???

1. Make sure that each machine has the same User set up, with IDENTICAL
Uername, IDENTICAL password, and IDENTICAL access rights
2. Run the Network setup wizard on each machine.

That should do it.

it in my workgroup. very weird....
