I have a desktop with xp pro sp2 connected to my ISP thru a toshiba cable
modem. I recently bought a laptop with xp home sp2 and a Dlink DI-624
802.11b/g wireless router. I set up the router with no problem and have
internet access on both computers. The lan cable from the modem is connected
to the router and the desktop is connected via lan cable to the router. The
laptop is wireless. I want to access files from each computer and be able to
print from the laptop. I've shared all the folders on both computers and
tried to set up a network, but everytime I open my network places, both
computers give me an error saying I don't have permission to access the
network, contact my admin. I've tried running the network setup wizard on
both computers and they both say every thing is GTG and to reboot. I've done
this several times on both, but I keep getting the error msg. Any help will
be greatly appreciated.

For ease of use, make identical user accounts and passwords on each
computer. Make sure the shares you've made have appropriate
permissions. After you've made the identical user accounts, if you
still can't share files/printers, run through the network
troubleshooter by MVP Hans-Georg Michna here:

http://www.michna.com/kb/wxnet.htm

If after doing that, you still need help then please post back to this
thread with the results of the troubleshooter.
