I have a problem with a network with 3 computers, two
running windows XP home, and the other running windows 98.
Computer A is dell desktop running windows XP home,
Computer B is Toshiba Laptop running windows XP home and
computer C is a compaq laptop running windows 98. The
problem that i am having i that computer B and C cannot
connect to Computer A. All of the network sharing has been
enabled, and the firewall has been disabled. Computer B
can ping computer A without a problem. And computers B and
C can connect and share files without a problem. The error
that i recieve is that i do not have permission to access
that computer, and that i should contact the
administrator. I have also deleted all of the account on
all of the computer and made them Administrator ONLY.
Computer A can connect to computer B without a problem. It
seems like a lot of people are having this problem. The
computers are connected to a wireless router. I suspect
that the the "freedom" software supplied by the ISP may be
causing the problem but even when it is disabled and not
running i still have that problem. Any ideas or comments
are welcome. The work group is the same, and everything is
properly enabled.
Somone told me about how if i use a "tester" username on
both computers it will isolate my problem but i cant find
any information on the "tester" username anywhere. I could
really use your help.
