I have two computers I am trying to network. One has Windows XP home
edition the other Windows ME. I have Roadrunner Cable for ISP. All are
plugged into a Linksys router. The internet works on both machines. The
XP computer is able to see the ME computer but ME cannot see XP. I have the
XP fire wall disabled. I have ZoneAlarm installed on both computers but
have that disabled until I can get the network working properly. I have a
couple folders on both computers set up to share. The workgroup name is the
same for each computer. File and Print sharing is installed and checked.

Do you have any suggestions?

Don't just disable ZoneAlarm. Un-install it. Your Linksys router
acts as a firewall, so your computers are protected against undesired
incoming traffic from the Internet even without ZoneAlarm.

After un-installing ZoneAlarm, go to Start | Run | msconfig | Startup
and disable any remnants of it. Then, reboot and try file sharing
again.

Once everything's working, you can re-install and re-configure
ZoneAlarm, which will protect your computers from undesired outgoing
traffic to the Internet.
