I'm trying to log on to my Mac OSX 10.3.9, but all online resources do not
work. Any suggestions? I have tried the following site:

http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/5100-10877_11-6174105.html

http://chris.pirillo.com/2007/03/07/file-sharing-from-windows-vista-to-os-x/

None of them work. Please advise!

The article on Techrepublic.com is excellent and pretty well covers
everything. What happens when you try? Any error messages from either
system? Did you do everything suggested by Techrepublic.com, including
changing the NTLMV2 settings? One thing I noticed in that article is
that it assumes you have Vista Ultimate and not one of the Home
versions. If you have a Home version, you won't have secpol.msc.
Instead, per MVP Steve Winograd:

1. Run the registry editor and open this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa

1. If it doesn't already exist, create a DWORD value named
LmCompatibilityLevel

3. Set the value to 1

4. Reboot

Without knowing what errors you're getting, it is hard to be more
specific. Are you sure you configured your firewall(s) to allow the
Local Area Network as trusted?

I have no problem sharing files from my Vista Ultimate to my MacBook
(10.4.9) so you're missing something. Post back with more information
for more help. Just saying "it doesn't work" isn't enough.
