Hello everyone
I am trying to set up a home network with my windows XP Home computer and a Windows 2000 Professional Computer in another room. I used the Network Wizard on the XP computer and named the workgroup "Workgroup".. but I can't run a network setup disk or the network setup of the XP CD on the Win2000 computer. I can see the windows XP computer on in the workgroup on the win2000 computer but i can't connect to it. I don't know how to get the connection up. Thanx for your help.. Cheers!

Please reply to this message in the news group (not by E-mail) with
more information to help other people understand the problem:

How are you seeing the Windows XP computer from Win2000?

How are you trying to connect to the Windows XP computer from Win2000?
What exactly happens when you do it? What is the complete text of the
error message?

What is the result of running these commands on each computer? Each
command should receive four replies:

ping <WinXP IP address>
ping <Win2000 IP address>
ping <WinXP computer name>
ping <Win2000 computer name>
