Networking Prof2000 to XP Prof

Iam wireless networking Prof 2000 machine to XP Prof. I
cannot get either to see the other. Does the Prof 2000
file system have to be NTFS? Is is currently Fat32. Is
there any danger of losing data if I do a conversion? Do I
need to upgrade to Sp4? - it is currently Sp1.

No, the local file system never matters when other PCs
access its files via a network connection.

No, the conversion from FAT32 to NTFS is safe.

No, an upgarde to SP4 is not necessary (but recommended
and well overdue).

You really need to start at the bottom:
- Turn off your firewalls while testing.
- Determine your IP addresses, using ipconfig /all.
- Ping each machine from each other machine.
- Ensure that you use the same account/password
on every machine.
