Steve

Hi,

I am completely new to networking, so would be greatful of
advice on how to set a simple 2 PC network up.

The network does not need Internet access. Both PC's have
a network card installed. 1 PC is running Windows XP, the
other Windows ME. I have a Network X-over cable to
connect the 2. This is basically to be used to play games.

I have tried numerous things, but dont seem to be getting
anywhere :(

Can anybody help me?

Cheers,
Steve.

Just as some additional Info. When running the Network
Setup wizard in WinXP, I was getting a 'Cannot Complete'
error at the end. The wizard says "Try setting your
Network configuration manually"

I want a quick step-by-step guide of what to do on each pc.

Many thanks,
Steve.

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
