Network Traffic Analysis

I am looking for some (not too expensive) software that will analysis the
network traffic on a Win 98/2k/XP network.
Basically I am trying to see the amount of traffic (by IP address)
generated from various workstations in this Lan without installing software
on each machine. Even a hardware device that could be installed behind the
(lan) router.
