i have two computers connected with a d-link router to share internet
connection and files. before sp2 installed, everything works fine. but after
the automatic upgrade, the other computer is not visible, and even worse, the
sharing folder in each computer became unaccessible. the error message reads
"no permission", but this is not accessed from other computer. please help.
thanks.

Hi there victor,

Installing Windows firewall activates the Windows firewall by default. The
issue you are experiencing is likely because of the Windows firewall which by
default blocks network traffic. To learn more about configuring Windows
firewall and setting up exceptions, see here:

Please follow the below steps to disable the Windows XP Sp2 firewall:

1. Click Start, run, type "firewall.cpl" (with out quotation marks)
and click OK.
2. In the resulting window, under the General tab, selet OFF (Not
recommended) option is checked.
3. Click OK.
