using the network wizard to share printing and
encountering the following problem with network wizard.
both computers are laptops with windows xp pro.
acer computer has hp 7900
toshiba computer has hp 5p laser
on the acer computer get this error when trying to setup
"spooler subsyetem app has encountered a problem" and
then the setup aborts.
how do i fix this problem

One possibility, especially with networked printers, is to turn off the
spooling and print directly to the printer. Otherwise it spools on one
computer, gets sent over the Internet, and gets spooled again. Might as well
just send it right to the other computer.

.

1. Open a command prompt window.

2. Stop the spooler service - type "net stop spooler" (without quotes) and
hit the ENTER key.

3. Then setup the network. After you finish then you can restart the
service.

You should be able to do that just for a single printer without disabling
the entire services.. This way is you still want to spool you can.

Under the printer's properties, click on the Advanced button and you should
be able to set it to Print directly to the printer.
