HELLO !!!
When you are disconnected from your VPN,stay away from those shortcuts.
Only when you are connected should you do anything to them.
The computer only does what you tell it to do.Why would you tell it to
look for something that isn't there???

What if I try to create a shortcut and i make a simple spelling mistake?
What is I'm suddenly disconnected? Why does the system become unstable? This
is the worst software design possible! I am an IT student and I have written
only a couple of simple network application and evem I can tell you that I
don't know a person who would make such a design flaw on purpose. This is an
obvious "bug" and it has been present in explorer since always. What would it
take to fix the bug? Windows is a multi-thread, multi-process system. A lag
in one procedure shouldn't hang the whole application. Networks are usually
really laggy, so people should have seen that comming. The user interface
should be in a separate thread than the network operations. You see that if
you use FTP in internet explorer. When the application reads data from the
socket it displays a flashlight animation. Why cant it be the same here?
Regards.
PS. If you tell me to use Linux instead, you can go **** yourself...
