Network problem

Thanks for your help before guys it was much
appreciated. I now have a new error msg when trying to
connect to the win98 machine from the xp machine.

"\\win98machine is not accessible. you might not have
permission to use this network resource. contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions.

The server is not configured for transactions."

I'm trying to set up a peer-to-peer network and am unsure
why it is refering to a server. I have set up user
profiles on both computers that have identical user
names. Also, i am using the cross cable for connection
between the two computer.
