Network Printing "Net Use"

B

Brent

ok... I'm trying to do this....

I've upgraded to an all XP PRO network.
I'm trying to use...

net use lpt2 \\pserver\laser1 /persistent:yes

So I can get a "DOS" program to print on a network
printer.

During the upgrade of the computers, I used this command
from a XP pro computer to a 98 pc untill I got the
computer where the network printer upgraded, And it
worked great. But now when I try to get net use to go to
the new XP Pro from the new XP pro pc it gives me the
following message.

The syntax of this command is:

NET USE
[devicename | *] [\\computername\sharename[\volume]
[password | *]]
[/USER:[domainname\]username]
[/USER:[dotted domain name\]username]
[/USER:[username@dotted domain name]
[/SMARTCARD]
[/SAVECRED]
[[/DELETE] | [/PERSISTENT:{YES | NO}]]

NET USE {devicename | *} [password | *] /HOME

NET USE [/PERSISTENT:{YES | NO}]

Can someone please tell me what's going on here!!!

To anyone who can help me get this taken care of, I will
buy you lunch at McDonalds...if your willing to come to
North Carolina! lol :)

Thanks

Brent

Weird,

Your syntax is correct, I use that command all the time.
Are you 100% sure of the sharename? No Really....Have you checked at least
twice? :)

A typo is the only thing I can see that would cause that command to fail.
