i have patched a network printer (IP printer) and installed driver on 1
machine. I want all pc's in the workgroup network to access this printer
without needing any other PC to be turned on. When I went to install the
printer as a network printer on another pc in the workgroup it couldn't find
it. What is the procedure to install IP printer on all PC's independant of
sharing?

i didn't find an answer in that link. This is a workgroup of just two pc's. I
tried to install the network printer as I did the first one but in browse for
printers the 2nd PC couldn't see it. Is this a glitch or am i missing
something? Also, Will this install a network printer in a workgroup on all
PC's? >>My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View >Tick "Automatically
Search for Network folders and Printers"

Do what Robert Lin told you to do - install as a local printer. The
rough technique is:

1. Install printer drivers on each computer.
2. Go to the Printer Control Panel applet and Add New Printer.
3. Choose Local Printer>New Port>TCP/IP.
4. The TCP/IP Wizard will start. Put in the printer's IP address. Finish
with the TCP/IP Wizard.
5. The Add Printer Wizard will continue and your printer will show up in
the make/model printer list. Select the correct one and finish the Wizard.
