I have home network with no hub. Using a cross-over
cable. The desktop has XP Home on and the laptop XP
Pro. The desktop has IP addr of 192.168.0.1 and laptop
has 192.168.0.2. They belong 2 workgroup csquared. If I
try and view workgroup pc's on desktop, it says csquared
not accessible, might not have permission. On laptop I
can only view the 2 pc's but cannot get into the desktop,
it says I might not have permission.

How can I solve this? I want the 2 pc's to view shared
folders of one another.

I'm not sure this will help, but do you have a subnet of 255.255.0.0 or 255.255.255.0 on both machines, and a gateway of one of the computers IP set?

My knowledge is very slim, but that is something I have pickup up recently on my Network Woes...
