Network performance with Gigabit cards

Hi!

What is the expected performance with Gigabit Network
cards under Windows 2000 Server? We have difficulties
reaching more than 30 Mbyte/second between the servers.
Theoretically it should be possible to get a lot more.

Are there any tweaks to make it go faster?

The cards we are using is HP NC6133, HP NC7770 and HP
NC7770. Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Servicepack 4, and
latest HP-drivers. The cards are mounted in a HP ProLiant
DL 580 G1 and in HP ProLiant DL380 G2.

Hi,

For start, check speed and duplex configuration on both sides (switch and
servers).

Hi again!

I know i forgot to write something...

Yes, speed and full duplex is set to fixed and highest
possible values on both switch and server.

Since you wrote "speed and full duplex is set to fixed and highest ", is
that fixed on 1000fdx?
Gigabit standard is not allow to set 1000fdx as fixed. you can set it on 10,
100 or auto.

Hi!

Been there, done that :)

Speed and duplex is fixed and at the maximum values on
both cards and switches.

Any other tweaks in registry or so?

Regards,

Johan
