network path not found

I've got strange issue I'm scratching my head over. I'll use 4 computers in
my example.

There are shares setup on computer A, B and C. Computers A, B and C can get
to the share on computer A, but computer D cannot. Computer D can get to the
shares on computers B and C. Computer D can get to every share on any other
computer on the domain, just not on Computer A. All other computers on the
domain can get the share on Computer A, Computer D is the ONLY one that
cannot. The error is Network path not found, which usually points either to
DNS and/or firewall. I've turned the firewall off and gone over the DNS
entries for all the computers.

We're in a windows 2003 domain (single forest). All computers are running XP
and joined to the domain. I've tried through UNC from the run command and
using the "net use" command with multiple user accounts.

Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Symantec Corporate Edition on both (same version - 10.0.2, on all computers).
No firewall beyond the built-in Windows one which we customize through GP. I
tried turning it off to no avail.

Other avenues I should check out? Thanks for you help.

Yes, I can ping all from all. I can NSLOOKUP all from all. DNS and routing
seems to be working fine. Well I guess it's not working completely fine or I
wouldn't be having this issue :)

I've tried removing computer D from the domain, deleting the account and
re-joining, same result. It's very strange. The problem is completely
isolated to this specific type of connection (smb) between only these 2
computers.

Thanks.

Computer D is the same setup (imaged PC) as the rest. XP on a 2003 Domain.

Another interesting thing to note that I tested today from computer D. When
I run NBTSTAT -A against computers A, B, and C, I get:

A: "nbtstat -A 192.168.26.91"

Host not found.

B: "nbtstat -A 192.168.26.36"
NetBIOS Remote Machine Name Table

Name Type Status
---------------------------------------------
COMPUTER.B <00> UNIQUE Registered
MYDOMAIN <00> GROUP Registered
COMPUTER.B <20> UNIQUE Registered

MAC Address = 00-50-56-xx-xx-xx

C: "nbtstat -A 192.168.6.21"
NetBIOS Remote Machine Name Table

Name Type Status
---------------------------------------------
COMPUTER.C <00> UNIQUE Registered
MYDOMAIN <00> GROUP Registered
COMPUTER.C <20> UNIQUE Registered
MYDOMAIN <1E> GROUP Registered
MYDOMAIN <1D> UNIQUE Registered

MAC Address = 00-12-3F-xx-xx-xx

I can run NBTSTAT -A from my computer fine:

nbtstat -A 192.168.26.91

NetBIOS Remote Machine Name Table

Name Type Status
---------------------------------------------
Computer.A <00> UNIQUE Registered
MYDOMAIN <00> GROUP Registered
Computer.A <20> UNIQUE Registered
MYDOMAIN <1E> GROUP Registered

MAC Address = 00-14-22-xx-xx-xx

I can perform nslookup (from computer D) and it comes up with the correct IP
address

Also of note, I noticed that computer D did not have a HOST (A) entry in the
DNS. I re-configured the DNS to allow unsecure and secure dynamic updates,
rebooted Computer D and the entry appeared.

Fun times.
