I am trying to remote install a symantec client on a network PC. I get a
message saying"unable to detect standard network share". When I enter
\\hostname\ADMIN$ from the command line on the PC I get this message "network
path not found". But all other network functions work fine for this PC,
including WSUS updates. Any suggestions?

Either you are not accessing it as an Administrator of that PC, or the
Adminsitrative Shares have been removed.

Do a registry search for 'AutoShareWks' and if found, change its value to
from 0 to 1.

Don't say I didn't warn you about the security implications, though. For
example, log on to a domain terminal as Admin, and if that terminal has a
virus, the virus will have access to every single C: drive in the building
through the C$ share. That is why most savvy admins turn them off.
