Network Map

Is there a way to map using something else than API wnet or Command shell
I've tryied both....command shell for a service is non-sense at all....and I was not able to use wnet function in vb.net...and now I hope that there's an other way...or just give me an example of wnetAddconnection2 that WORKS at all...it allway return me the error 487....and event the WNetGetLastError doesn't work..
