Network keyboard

I have been reading for a long time now that everything in the future
is going to have an IP address. Even tires on your car.

Why not now?

I have a WDTV live connected to my network. I see no reason why I
can't configure my keyboard to send signals to an IP address. That
would make it easy to use any keyboard for controlling anything.

Mouse control would be even better. I have a network computer now
that doesn't even have a keyboard. I use the mouse for most things
and I use the handicap keyboard for situations when need a keyboard.

microsoft has a free program called mouse without borders that allows you to use the same keyboard and mouse across multiple computers so it's kind ofthe same thing. it requires an install on all machines so it probably wontwork for what you are talking about but the tech is out there.
