All three PCs must be in the same workgroup and have something 'shared' on
each one (usually the hard drive!)

Those are helpful steps, Cari, but they're not necessary. All
versions of Windows can access multiple workgroups on a network. A
computer doesn't have to share anything to appear on the network.
Simply enabling File and Printer Sharing makes it appear.

Edward, the answers to your question depend on how your DSL connection
works. Please post a reply in the news group and describe exactly how
your network is set up. For example:

Do you have a simple DSL modem, or is it a combination modem/router?

If it's a simple DSL modem, what does it connect to -- a computer, a
broadband router, a hub/switch, or something else?

Do your computers have public or private IP addresses?

What network protocols(s) have you installed?

Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group
for everyone to see. I'm sorry, but I don't answer questions
addressed directly to me in E-mail or news groups.
