network drives - slow enumeration when opening My Computer

Hello all,

We have a win2k domain with AD and DNS. When windows 2000 or xp machines
open My Computer the network drives take some time to show.

On NT machines this is not the case. I have tried using WINS only on win2k
machines and no change.

Is this normal?
we have approcimately 3 local servers being mapped and 4 servers across a
WAN.

Our hope is that the slowness os due to the WAN mapping.

Does this sound right?

Does the ipconfig/all from the clients show that everything is pointing to
the server-IP? How many nics in the server?
