Network drive

We have a network of about 15 computers and a server
running SQL 2000 server. For some reason two of the
computers are unable to access the SQL server all of a
sudden. When I try to connect using the mapped drive
letter I get the messae "the local device name is already
in use" when I try to connect by going through network
neighborhood I get the message "the target account name
is incorrect." Both of these computer were able to
connect just fine one day, then the next they could not.

I have already checked the knowledge base, I found a few
articles that said that there may be a duplicate computer
name in the directory, I checked and there was no such
duplicate. I found a few other articles, but none were
helpful. I also tried removing the computers from the
domain and then re-joining them, but that did not help
either.

Ok, I found a workaround, but it is still a problem that
I like to fix instead of using a workaround.

Instead of getting to the share by going through network
neighborhood I used the ip address of the server. When I
tried this, to my suprise, I was able to connect just
fine. Still though, when I try to connect through network
neighborhood, or by typing in \\<servername> i still get
the "the target account name is incorrect" error message.
All other network devices and shares work just fine, only
this one server that has our SQL server and from these
two computers is this problem occuring. I tried pinging
the server, thinking there may be some error resolving
the name, but ping works just fine both by ip and by
name, meaning that it is able to resolve the name. So now
I have the drive mapped using the IP instead of the name.
It is transparent to the users, which is nice, but the
prolem is still there, and this could cause some major
problems down the road because we are planning to migrate
our network storage shares to that server. If anyone can
be of any assitance it would be greatly appreciated.
