Depends on what OS is on the server machine where the shared files are. For most OSes, the files are gone. Windows Server 2003 provides a feature called "Shadow Copies": http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/prodtechn ol/windowsserver2003/proddocs/deployguide/sdcbc_sto_irvi.asp ( link will wrap, re-construct as required. )
