network connection lost

I have just connected XP Pro with 98SE, it seems that when the 98SE computer
goes into its screensaver mode I loose the network connection both from and
to it. So far have only been able to reconnect by rebooting both machines.
Any ideas ?

Change the power management settings and don't turn off the hard drives,
etc.
