Network Bridge & Local Area Connection

All:

I'm using XP Pro on a Dell laptop in my home. I connect to the Internet via
a Linksys router. I had once used a Netgear hub and when I installed the
software it placed all the network connections in a Network Bridge section
in Network Connections. The problem is that Network Bridge connections
don't allow configuration of IP address, mask, gateway and name servers.

There is no Network Bridge item to delete including the hardware device list
and when I uninstall my NIC it always re-installs as a connection in
Network Bridge. I would like to be able to set up a regular connection so
I can access the TCP/IP configuration options. At this time, I am unaware
how to work around what XP uses as defaults.

If you have any thoughts on how I might do this, I would appreciate the
advice.

TIA,

Steve

You should uninstall Network Bridge service from Network Properties Dialog
Box. Ussualy Network Bridge is using two or more connections which are not
using Internet connection. I hope by uninstalling this service you will be
able to use a direct TCP/IP connection. Regards, Catalin
Network Properties Dialog Box? When I right click my Local Area Connection
and open Properties I don't have such an option.
